Early Preparation

 24/1/2011

Hi everyone, we have started to prepare for our big trip around Australia. We will leave in the Term 1 holidays and return at the start of Term 4. The trip will be about six months. We are in the process of making a five and a half metre long tandem trailer. We have finished the chassis and just welded the springs on. Over our holiday we want to continue to play our instruments. So, for me (Cam), we bought a guitar case, (even though it was a size too big) and some books that I can learn the songs myself. For Alistair, we found a keyboard, a Casio. It has the same number of keys as a piano and can sound like 678 different instruments including drums, flute, guitar and 125 different types of piano!

We will start out trip by going from Geelong to Adelaide, following the coast to Port Lincoln, go west following the transcontinental railway to Kalgoorlie, then south to Esperance, we’ll follow the coast to Perth, then follow the great northern highway, coming off at Tom Price and across to Port Hedland, then we go to Broome, then we go east via the Gibb River Rd, to the Bungle Bungles to Darwin, from there we follow Stuart Highway to Alice Springs, and then go south west to Uluru, then lastly we go through Coober Pedy to Geelong.
